Huggins wins $15K for cancer research in Infiniti Challenge

Thank you Mountaineer fans for helping West Virginia University Men’s Basketball Coach Bob Huggins win $15K for research at the WVU Cancer Institute in the Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge that ended on March 12. Coach Huggins was a strong competitor throughout the Challenge involving 48 coaches nationwide and was in the Final Four.  Each was hoping to win the $100K grand prize for their favorite charities.  Huggins will give his prize money to the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund, which he established in memory of his mother, who died in 2003 following a long battle with colon cancer.  The fund supports clinical research, specifically providing access to cancer clinical trials at WVU Medicine affiliates for all West Virginians.

The Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge is an annual event sponsored by luxury automobile manufacturer Infiniti, in partnership with the National Association of Basketball Coaches, the NCAA, and ESPN to benefit the coaches’ favorite charities.
