IDEA award recipient to visit WVU

The International Development and Education Award (IDEA) provides support for early-career oncologists in low- and middle-income countries by establishing strong relationships with leading American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) members who serve as scientific mentors to each recipient. Recipients of this award will attend ASCO’s 2015 Annual Meeting and participate in a post-meeting visit to their mentor’s institution in the U.S. or Canada.

Pedram Fadavi, M.D., a 2015 IDEA award recipient, will visit the WVU Department of Radiation Oncology and the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center June 3-5. Dr. Fadavi is a radiation oncologist at the Iran University of Medical Sciences. During his visit, he will be working with his mentor, Geraldine Jacobson, M.D., M.P.H., M.B.A., and other faculty to learn about image-guided radiation techniques, advanced imaging and multi-disciplinary cancer care.
