The Pink Party fundraiser to benefit Bonnie’s Bus
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Pink Party to support the Bonnie Wells Wilson Mobile Mammography Program (Bonnie’s Bus) is coming to Touchdown Terrace at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown on Monday, Nov. 13. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with live entertainment from 6 to 9 p.m.
All net proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Bonnie’s Bus, a mobile mammography unit that travels across the entire state of West Virginia offering screening mammograms.
“This year’s Pink Party promises to be an evening of fun, food, and music. There will be a wide variety of silent and live auction offerings that will be featured throughout the evening,” Sara Jane Gainor, director of the Bus, said.
The Jenny Wilson Trio will perform jazz selections, and the new, state-of-the-art Bonnie’s Bus will be parked onsite for attendees to board for guided tours from 5 to 7 p.m.
General admission tickets are $75 if purchased in advance at wvucancer.org/ThePinkParty and $95 if purchased at the door. General admission ticket purchases include entertainment, a buffet featuring heavy hors d’oeuvres, a commemorative Pink Party glass, and tours of the new Bonnie’s Bus. VIP tickets are $100 and must be purchased online in advance. VIP tickets will not be available at the door. Those who purchase VIP tickets will receive all the general admission perks, plus special VIP recognition and a Bonnie’s Bus gift bag. Online sales close at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9.

Since 2009, Bonnie’s Bus, a collaborative program between the WVU Cancer Institute and WVU Medicine, has provided more than 15,000 mammograms to West Virginia women, many of whom are uninsured and unable to cover the cost of a mammogram. To date, 65 women have been diagnosed with breast cancer following a screening on the Bus.
Bonnie’s Bus works in collaboration with a statewide partnership of clinicians, public health professionals, employers, and other community leaders working to help reduce the number of deaths from breast cancer in West Virginia.
Made possible by a generous gift from West Virginia natives Jo and Ben Statler to the Cancer Institute, Bonnie’s Bus is operated in partnership with WVU Hospitals. The Bus is named after Jo Statler’s late mother, Bonnie Wells Wilson.
