Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a fulltime, non-tenure-track, 12-month appointment as Director of Experiential Learning and clinical assistant or associate professor in the School of Pharmacy. Faculty rank and salary are commensurate with academic background and practice experience.

Responsibilities: The principal responsibilities are to provide direction and oversight to the Office of Experiential Learning (OEL), assist in managing the IPPE and APPE portions of the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum, and supervise and evaluate the OEL staff (Assistant Director of Experiential Learning and Program Specialist). The OEL also has a part-time pharmacist faculty member as Director of IPPE. The effort allocation for the experiential learning administrative appointment is 40%; the remaining allocation is 20% teaching, 10% research/scholarship, and 30% service. The service allocation would allow time for a part-time professional practice (e.g., 1.5 days/week) in a practice area of the individual’s interest and expertise, consistent with School of Pharmacy needs.

Credentials: 1) Doctor of Pharmacy degree, or 2) Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree plus doctoral degree in a relevant field. PGY1 pharmacy residency training is preferred. Pharmacy licensure in West Virginia will be required. The successful candidate will possess excellent organization and time-management skills; the interpersonal skills needed to interact effectively with students, faculty, and preceptors; enthusiasm for didactic and clinical teaching; and appropriate clinical skills in an area of practice.

Institution and Location: West Virginia University is a land grant, Carnegie-designated Doctoral Research/Extensive institution, with approximately 23,000 undergraduate, 5,000 graduate, and 1,600 professional students. The Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center (HSC) in Morgantown includes the Schools of Pharmacy, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health.
