Keyser Campus hosts job fair for senior nursing students

The WVU School of Nursing Keyser Campus recently hosted a job fair for senior nursing students. 

The event, held Oct. 8 at the Davis Conference Center, welcomed guest speaker Katie Rexrode, a 2023 graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. 

Rexrode, a nurse in the emergency department at WVU Potomac Valley Hospital, talked to the students about transitioning from student to practice and provided helpful hints to make that first year easier.

Representatives from 13 different agencies participated in the fair, including WVU Medicine Potomac Valley Hospital, WVU Medicine: Garrett Regional Medical Center WVU Medicine Grant Memorial Hospital, WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Keyser Healthcare Center, Thomas B. Finan Center, UPMC Western Maryland, Valley Health Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Valley Health Winchester Medical Center, Vandalia Health Mon Health Medical Center, Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center, EA Hawse Healthcare Center, and Fundamental Administrative Moran Manor.

Students rotated to various tables to learn about the agencies, their nursing needs, and benefits of working as a nurse within their facility.
