Villanova College of Nursing professors speak to WVU School of Nursing students

Two guest speakers from Villanova University’s Fitzpatrick College of Nursing recently spoke with WVU School of Nursing NSG 320 and 411 students in Morgantown and the NSG 320 class in Beckley via Zoom.

The speakers, Dr. McDermott-Levy and Dr. Michelle Kelly from the Mid-Atlantic Center for Children's Health and the Environment, presented “Environmental Health Nursing: A Public Health Nursing Role.”

“It was an honor to host Drs. McDermott-Levy and Kelly,” said Dr. Tina Antill Keener, Director of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Programs. “The speakers requested to address WVU School of Nursing students because they recognize our students as future leaders and believe they are vital to assessing and addressing the environmental health of individuals, families, and communities.”

Both faculty and students said the presentation was a rich learning experience. One student commented, “It opened my eyes to the potential jobs in public health as a registered nurse.”
